Towards personalized radiotherapy treatments
Who we are
EngerLab is a group of scientists with diverse backgrounds and expertise ranging from medical physics, physics, radiation biology, oncology, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, software engineering, artificial intelligence and scientific computing. Our multidisciplinary team consists of B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. students as well as research assistants and associates with B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees. We work closely together to develop personalized cancer treatment technology. Learn more about who we are on our members page.

What we do
The primary aim of the research conducted at the Engerlab is to enable patient-specific radiotherapy treatments through personalized radiation dosimetry and delivery. By investigating biological effects of radiation interaction with matter, developing and introducing new radiation sources, delivery systems and detectors, fast Monte Carlo and artificial intelligence-based dosimetry and dose optimization algorithms we hope to improve the treatment outcomes related to radiotherapy. In addition, by developing artificial intelligence-based multimodality treatment outcome prediction models we aim to predict patients likelihood of response to a certain cancer treatment. With this we hope to reduce unnecessary interventions, side effects and increase the cure rates. Find out more about our work by visiting our most recent publications or visiting our blog.
