Bio

Zacharie Martel recently graduated with a B.Sc. from McGill University with a major in Physics and a minor in Mathematics. Zacharie is currently working as a research assistant under the supervision of Dr. Enger and Dr. Marija Popovic at the Lady Davis Institute. His project consists of segmenting multiple organs at risk in pediatric CT images with the help of deep learning.

Current Projects

Auto-segmentation of organs at risk and tumor in pediatric CT images
The aim of this study is to automate the segmentation of the tumor and organs at risk for pediatric patients treated with radiotherapy with potential to reduce staff shortages and costs, improve clinical workflows and reduce uncertainties in radiotherapy. This will be achieved with the help of a deep learning architecture known as a 3 dimensional U-Net which will be trained and tested on 50 patients. I am expecting to obtain meaningful results during the month of August.
