Bio
Laya is passionate about studying the performance of deep learning models under distribution shifts, and her research interests are mainly Anomaly Detection and Domain Adaptation.
She was born in the north of Iran. She started her research on Graph Theory and Computer Vision during her master’s at Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran. She then came to Canada in 2017 to pursue her study and graduated with Ph.D. in Computer Science from Concordia University in February 2023.
Laya joined EngerLab in April 2023 as a postdoctoral fellow to work on deep learning methods to improve care delivery by prioritizing endoscopic referrals.
