All our newest developments in one place.
EngerLab warmly welcomes two new post-doctoral fellows Dr. Mirta Dumancic and Dr. Parsa Bagherzadeh!
Mirta Dumancic, PhD, was born and raised in Croatia, where she also studied Physics at the Faculty of Science at the University of Zagreb. Her master’s thesis was in detector development for particle physics. She finished her Ph.D. at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel where she studied the weak-boson production in heavy ion…
The Engerlab wishes you a Happy and Healthy 2023!
2022 was filled with success and joy but also challenges. We have celebrated the success, shared the good times, and been there for each other during the challenging times. We have learned from our success and mistakes, worked very hard but also taken the time to have fun. Our academic family looks forward to 2023…
Compact radiation detector could expedite the use of dynamic PET
Congratulations to Liam Carroll, PhD student at the EngerLab for being featured in physicsworld.com for his recent publication titled “Simulation of a novel, non-invasive radiation detector to measure the arterial input function for dynamic positron emission tomography”. The aim of this study was to (A) optimize the geometry for a novel and cost efficient non-invasive detector designed to…
Welcome Björn Morén! Our newest postdoctoral fellow coming to us from Linköping University in Sweden.
Björn will work on robust optimization for intensity modulated brachytherapy. During his PhD thesis, Björn applied mathematical optimization algorithms to model and solve the treatment planning problem for brachytherapy.
