Bio
Marc-Antoine was born and raised near Montreal, where he completed a bachelor’s degree in Honours Physics at McGill University. He conducted his undergraduate thesis in the EngerLab, focusing on developing a scintillator-based detector for quality assurance of an alpha-emitting brachytherapy source. Marc-Antoine did his master’s thesis in medical physics at McGill University where he worked on simulating a radiation detector to measure the arterial input function for dynamic positron emission tomography brain studies. He is currently continuing this project as a Ph.D. student in McGill’s Physics Department.
Current Project
Non- invasive radiation detector to measure the arterial input function from the radial artery.
Dynamic positron emission tomography is a functional imaging technique that often relies on measuring the radioactivity of arterial blood plasma, known as the arterial input function (AIF). This measurement is typically performed using invasive arterial blood sampling under local anesthesia. While alternative methods exist, they still have limitations which limit their widespread use, especially for brain studies. To address this issue, our group is developing a non-invasive radiation detector to measure the AIF of the radial artery.
