Sébastien Quetin Wins Prix Jean Pouliot 2024 for Outstanding Paper

Congratulations to Sébastien Quetin, PhD student in Biological & Biomedical Engineering at McGill University’s Lady Davis Institute, for winning the prestigious Jean Pouliot Award from the Association québécoise des physicien(ne)s médicaux cliniques (AQPMC). This award recognizes the best-published paper of the year in medical physics from Quebec, and it’s especially significant for highlighting cutting-edge research.

His paper, titled “Deep learning for high-resolution dose prediction in high dose rate brachytherapy for breast cancer treatment”, presents a breakthrough in using deep learning to predict clinically accurate dose distributions at a fine 1 mm³ resolution, up to 300 times faster than traditional Monte Carlo simulations. A remarkable achievement in both precision and speed.
